La Rota Farmhouse

​The centuries-old La Rota farmhouse is situated among the organic vineyards of the Fontodi winery, in the Conca d'Oro valley. The name “La Rota” ( the wheel) derives from the ancient mill which stood long ago in the area, at the point of convergence of several streams which descended from the surrounding hills.

​ The farmhouse is divided into 2 large, independent structures, as it was originally. It contains 3 apartments, ranging from 2 to 3 bedrooms, each having its own entrance and a private garden with outdoor dining area and barbecue. The garden which surrounds the buildings is very scenic and can be enjoyed in every season for its wide range of flowering plants. On one side of the garden is the swimming pool and a solarium, shared by the guests of the apartments. 

​​​La Rota has been carefully restored using traditional materials such as terracotta tiles, chestnut wood beans and pietra serena stone, typical of the architectural style of Chianti. Each apartment has been decorated with particular attention to details using Tuscan furniture and fabrics with some original antique pieces. Guests of the farmhouse are welcome to use the tennis court located in the Fontodi winery.
